Client process
Before signing any dotted lines or paying any desposits, we hop on a quick 30 minute call so I can learn more about your brand and better understand where I can add the most value. The output of this call will be a rough verbal agreement of the project scope, deliverables, timeframe, and budget.
Kick off call
Using the information gathered on our kick off call, I will create a bespoke projectproposal which will likely cover a couple of different options. Typically in a bronze, silver, gold approach. This proposal will outline the project schedule, deliverables and quote for each option.
Project proposal
After selecting the option you’d like to go with, I’ll send over our contract, questionnaire and deposit invoice for 50% of the agreed project fee. I will also provide guidance for pulling together your project moodboard with examples to follow. As soon as I receive the deposit and signed contract, our project is locked in for the agreed start date.
Signed & sealed
Design process
After recieving sign off for each of our deliverables, I will share the final invoice for the remainder of our project fee. As soon as I receive payment, I’ll send over all of the assets in a super user-friendly folder system. All that’s left to do is implement everything we created together and take your industry by storm!
Delivery & handover
Design process
Armed with your brief and moodboard, I deeply analyse both documents in conjunction with thorough market (and often times audience) research to unearth vital insights which may influence the design direction we decide to go down.
Research & discovery
Using my research, I will create at least two design directions that will effectively answer your brief. These will typically cover example logo designs, colour palettes, typography, etc. in a clear cohesive style. I will present these to you and share the deck afterwards to support the feedback process.
Design direction
After confirming which design direction you’d like to pursue, I begin my creating tens if not hundreds of initial logo ideas. The goal here is to generate as many ideas as possible to then go back through and refine any diamonds in the rough.
Initial ideas
Next, I will refine and develop a few sketches from my intial ideas stage. It’s at this point, I have decided on the best solution for your brief and I will build this direction out further - introducing colour, typography, patterns, etc.
Idea development
Now the design work is complete, I will create a wholly comprehensive presentation detailing each of my design decisions and the reasons behind them. Towards the end of this presentation, I will show you industry specific mock ups so you can really imagine how this work will look in your world.
Design presentation
After a couple of days have passed and you’re sure of your feedback, you will send this over to me on email. Depending on the level of amends (if there are any at all), I may present to you again addressing all of your points until we ultimately sign each deliverable off.
Final or feedback
Are all of your projects structured this way?
For the most part, I stick to this process where possible as I have found it to be the most efficient and effective method to create my best work. However, in instances where there are additional deliverables or varied working practices, I will adapt my process accordingly to suit.
